Amani Munshi, MD, FACS

Dr. Amani Munshi is a board certified general surgeon with fellowship training in advanced laparoscopic, foregut procedures and bariatric surgery. She has a special interest and expertise in advanced laparoscopic gastrointestinal and abdominal surgery. She also has knowledge and specialized training in the surgical management of reflux disease, hiatal hernias, and esophageal motility disorders. In addition, she performs minimally invasive and robotic hernia repairs, and abdominal wall reconstruction. She also specializes in laparoscopic solid organ removal for the spleen and adrenal gland.

She was raised in Toronto, Ontario where she completed her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience at the University of Toronto. She received her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine, served her residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University. Following that she completed her fellowship in bariatric surgery at University of Alberta, and then a minimally invasive surgery fellowship at McGill University Health Centre. She worked in the Cleveland area for a few years with University Hospital, prior to moving to Denver. In her free time she enjoys being outdoors, travelling, hiking, and spending time with her family.
