Dr. Franco Rea is a Thoracic and Cardiovascular surgeon board-certified in Thoracic surgery, General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. Dr. Rea has a special interest in Non-Cardiac Thoracic Surgery and Vascular Surgery, including but not limited to minimally invasive thoracoscopic techniques for lung cancer, endovascular aortic surgery, carotid surgery, and dialysis access.
Dr. Rea was born and raised in a small coal mining town in western Ohio where he lettered in track and field, football, and wrestling during high school. Dr. Rea completed undergraduate studies at Gannon University, medical school at The Ohio State University where he also completed a General Surgery residency. He then completed a fellowship in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at the University of Louisville. He remained in private practice for a number of years in Louisville, Kentucky before moving to Denver.
In his free time Dr. Rea enjoys hiking, climbing fourteeners, fishing, and traveling.
